Nancy Marie Nicholas, age 75 of Barnhart, Missouri passed away Friday, March 6, 2026, at her home. She was born October 2, 1950, in St. Louis, Missouri. The daughter of late Ardelle (nee Meese) and Richard Wallman.
She is survived by her husband of 52 years Robert “Bob” Nicholas; daughter Katie Nicholas of
Dallas, Texas; granddaughter Chloe Nicholas-Deardurff of Dallas, Texas; son Robert Nicholas of Indianapolis, Indiana; sister Mary Buck-Schumm (Ralph) Brown of Festus, Missouri; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her sister Elizabeth “Betty” Ann (survived by Kenneth) Stackley from Crystal City, Missouri.
Nancy graduated from St Pius X high school in 1968. She received her Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education in 1972 from Southeast Missouri State University, and then went on to receive her Master’s Degree. She taught 2nd grade for the Jefferson R-7 School District for 30 years; earning the Emerson Teacher of the Year award in 1985. Following retirement, she was a Paraprofessional aide for 15 years at Windsor C-1 School District. Nancy was a member of St Joseph Catholic Parish in Imperial, Missouri, a member of NEA (National Education Association), and the Joachim Ladies Golf Team. Nancy enjoyed playing golf, yardwork, bowling, walking, and traveling. She truly never met a stranger, and her kindness and warmth will be missed more than words can say.
Visitation is from 4:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. on Thursday March 12, 2026, at Vinyard Funeral Home in Festus. Funeral Mass 10: 00 A.M. on Friday March 13, 2026, at St Joseph Catholic Parish in Imperial, Missouri officiated by Fr. Donald Morris. Interment will be in St Joseph Cemetery in Imperial, Missouri.
