Dolores Ann "Dee" Pope, 77, of Festus died Sept. 3, 2023, at her home. Mrs. Pope was born Aug. 2, 1946, in Festus, the daughter of the late Augusta Catherine (Reich) and Bernard Pratt. She was preceded in death by her husband: William Marvin "Bill" Pope.
She is survived by three children: Kevin (Sherry) Pope of Festus, Marc (Holly) Pope of Festus and Jason (Mandie) Pope of Oakville; three sisters: Patricia (Bill) Clark of Festus, Sr. Mary Jacqueline Pratt O.S.U. of St. Louis and Kitty (the late Ralph) Spitz of Oakville; eight grandchildren: Melody (Devon) Swan, Nicholas (fiancé Jamie Donahue) Pope, Truman (fiancé Bella Moore) Pope, Gretchen Pope, Katrina Pope, Trevor Forshee, Macy Pope and Miles Pope; and one great-grandchild: Denton Swan. She was preceded in death by a brother: Bernard J. "Butch" (Babe survives of Festus) Pratt; and a great-grandchild: Sawyer Swan.
Visitation is scheduled from 4-7 p.m. Thursday, Sept.7, at Vinyard Funeral Home, 616 W. Main Street, in Festus. A funeral Mass will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, Sept. 8, at Sacred Heart Church, 555 Bailey Road, in Crystal City, officiated by Father Michael Bohem. Burial will be in the Sacred Heart Cemetery in Crystal City. Memorials may be made to Ursuline Sisters or the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation. Arrangements are under the direction of Vinyard Funeral Home.
