Darrell David Thurman, age 76, of Festus, Missouri, passed away Friday, October 1, 2021 at Mercy Hospital St. Louis. He was born August 18, 1945 in Festus, the son of the late Grace Mary (nee Murray) Thurman and Leland Stanford Thurman, Sr.
He is survived by his wife Barbara (nee Bowman) Thurman of Festus; son Randy (Stacey) Thurman of St. Charles, Missouri; daughter, Lori Fisk of St. Louis, Missouri; grandchildren Sarah Thurman, Nolan Thurman, Kyle Fisk and Mikaela Fisk.
In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by his brothers, Roland Thurman, Larry Thurman, and Leland Thurman, Jr.; his sisters, Mary (the late Donald) LaBrot and Lela (the late Floyd) Ferguson.
He was retired from Anheuser Busch where he worked as a maintainer. Darrell was a member of St. Agnes Church in Bloomsdale and a Lifetime Member of VFW Post #3777.
Visitation 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm Thursday, October 7, 2021 at Vinyard Funeral Home in Festus. Funeral Mass 10:00 am Friday, October 8, 2021 at St. Agnes Church in Bloomsdale, officiated by Father Benz. Interment with full military honors in Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery, St. Louis. Memorials in his memory are preferred to Wounded Warriors.
